Live Rank GPS system at DATEV Challenge Roth
With the new Live Rank GPS system developed by SAS Technologies, in cooperation with Deutsche Telekom, families, friends, sponsors and the media can follow race action live – keeping tabs on their chosen athletes for the entire duration of this year’s DATEV Challenge Roth on 12 July 2015.
The race action can be followed: along the route for local spectators at the event in Roth, Germany, via the Live Rank App; as well as from home via the Live Rank Online Portal.
In addition to the respective position on the course, the Live Rank GPS system also gives an athlete’s current placement (overall and selectable by age group), the current speed, proximity to other athletes and the current heart rate (if desired). The latter is recognized over a chest strap via Bluetooth.
The system is also equipped with an ‘SOS’ button for athletes, in the event of health issues. Should an issue get into difficultly on the course, their details will be forwarded with the current GPS position to the emergency room and a pre-determined person.
Under the motto ‘Be part of the TEAM SPORT FOR GOOD’, participants of DATEV Challenge Roth 2015 can secure one of the limited TEAM SPORT FOR GOOD GPS trackers for a rental fee of €59 – with a portion of the rental benefiting the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
All participating athletes at this year’s Challenge Roth will be invited to become supporters, or to a certain extent ‘members’ of TEAM SPORT FOR GOOD (formerly the Power Horse Triathlon Team). On the day before the event gets under way, Saturday 11 July, pro triathletes Timo Bracht and Horst Reichel will speak with age group participants in the TEAM SPORT FOR GOOD lounge at the Roth Expo.
The Live Rank GPS systems are in limited supply. Interested athletes are advised to sign-up as soon as possible via an online portal. Technical information on the Live rank GPS system can be found at
