Chrissie Wellington: "I eat a lot of
wholegrains, nuts and seeds, have red meat once
a week and fish or chicken once a day."
Craig Alexander: ‘I don’t believe in fad diets. I just follow normal eating patterns and mix my food. I’ll have red meat, fish and chicken each week and pasta once or twice a week. I am not a big fan of vegetables and I love ice cream and chocolate’.
Chris McCormack:'I really follow no specific diet plan. I try to live by the 90-10 principle that I made up. If I eat well 90 percent of the time I can afford myself some junk food. I eat very well and have a pretty balanced diet. I don’t have an American palate which tends to be a very sweet tooth. I don’t have a sweet tooth at all and tend to eat pretty well. I feel no guilt with anything I eat and think that guilt surrounding diet is more detrimental than the food itself'

Faris Al Sultan:'In Germany, I eat a lot of bread. And I mean an awful lot. That’s not so important here in the UAE so instead I go through a lot of rice.
The truth is we endurance athletes actually have a pretty simple diet. When you train as much as we do, our body craves the calories. It’s why I tend to eat 5000 calories a day.
We watch what we eat but really we can eat rubbish and get away with it. Just don’t tell everyone!'
