Hallo Harry,

How is it hanging? I thought it’s time for some HarryFacts as you guys should feel well equipped to cheer me on this year’s mission in Mallorca.
When Harry was a child, his parents slept in his bed when they were scared.
How too ever - ich vermelde...
CAUTION+!+TRIATHLON NERDS ADVISORY+++

Chime Communications, the UK-based public relations group with multiple interests in sport, is the subject of a takeover bid approach worth over £350 million ($547 million) from WPP, the international advertising giant, and Providence Equity Partners, the US private equity firm.
The company is considering an offer of 365p per share, which would represent a premium of 33 per cent on its closing price of 274.5p per share on Wednesday.
In a statement last night, Chime said: “An independent committee of the board of Chime has been convened who are engaged in discussions with the consortium.”
However, it stressed that “there can be no certainty” that WPP and Providence would proceed with a bid.
CSM Sport & Entertainment, Chime’s sports marketing division, is chaired by Sebastian Coe, who previously headed up the organising committee for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and is standing to be the president of the IAAF, athletics’ international governing body.
WPP, which is led by UK advertising tycoon Sir Martin Sorrell, already owns 20 per cent of Chime, and it is understood that it will retain this stake without investing new money, but work with Providence, which is leading the bid, to expand the company if Chime is bought out and taken private.
Neither WPP nor Providence have commented on the proposed deal.
Chime, which is chaired by Lord Mervyn Davies, the former UK trade minister and former chairman of Standard Chartered, posted profits of £30.1 million in 2014, a 6-per-cent increase on the previous year.
CSM comprises various agencies, including Essentially, Fast Track, Icon, iLUKA and Just Marketing Inc., a motor sports subsidiary. It now employs over 850 people in 22 offices in 15 countries.
Coe became chair of CSM in 2013. In March this year the company named Zak Brown as its new group chief executive as part of a reshuffle of its senior management. The respected US marketer, previously chief executive of JMI, replaced Jim Glover, who took on the new role of CSM deputy chairman with responsibility for global partnerships and client relationships.
Edward Leask remained deputy chairman with responsibility for mergers, acquisitions, alliances and the growth of the business in the North American market.
Both WPP and Providence have invested significantly in sport in recent times.
In May, GroupM, WPP’s media investment management company, launched ESP, a new sports agency, and acquired Two Circles, the UK-based data-driven sports agency.
ESP’s clients include the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, the City Football Group, led by English soccer club Manchester City, and the England and Wales Cricket Board.
WPP also heads up a syndicate investing $250 million in Bruin Sports Capital, a company founded in January by George Pyne, the former president of IMG Worldwide Sports and Entertainment. The investment, which was matched by private donors, has provided Bruin Sports Capital with $500 million in buying power.
Providence investments have included Learfield Sports, an agency which markets rights to US college sport, Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network, a regional sports network based in New York, and World Triathlon Corporation, the organiser of Ironman long distance triathlon events.
Providence was previously linked with a bid for Infront Sports & Media, the international sports agency ultimately acquired by China’s Wanda Group in a deal worth €1.05 billion ($1.15 billion) in February of this year.
