"Nutrition
Chrissie says here – "eat a healthy well balanced diet". Enough said really – but what is one of those. Training requires fuel – and for that you need fast burning sugars and carbs. Fit those in before, during and after workouts. That done – what are the basics of good nutrition? This is something that I've struggled with for years. I go for a modified paleo diet for athletes. The full paleo diet is too difficult with a busy lifestyle but a modified one isn't too bad. First rule is to avoid stuff that comes out of a packet, tin or box. If it's been through a factory try no to eat it. That reduces the amount of bad stuff that you eat buy a huge extent. Second rule – away from training times focus on eating non-carb foods. For me that means meat/chickemn/fish/seafood with vegetables. I avoid rice, bread, pasta and potatoes. This brings a lot of nutrients and slow burning fuels into your body. Give it a whirl."
