European companies in Russia are experiencing short-term pessimism
09.06.2022 | The Russian military operation in Ukraine and the ensuing sanctions predictably collapsed the business sentiments of European companies in Russia - a sharp increase in pessimism of this segment of entrepreneurs was recorded by the Association of European Businesses (AEB). Companies have the most dramatic assessment of their prospects on the horizon of up to two years: due to expectations of losses, about 70% of respondents intend to reduce investments. In the long term, expectations are quite optimistic, which indicates the willingness of companies to work long hours and the hope for stabilization of the situation. However, the real state of affairs will depend on the development of clear and transparent support mechanisms and the return of investors to the Russian jurisdiction.
