Zitat:

Zitat:
Lionel: I basically was insecure about being able to cover the distance and so I said, "how can I become better at covering the distance?" Well, I'll just ride... I'll swim the entire distance in the morning, then I'll ride the distance at race pace...
Bob: 112 miles?
Lionel: I'll ride 4+ hours at... I mean my worst one... I did it 10 times leading into the race in about 15 weeks... leading into the race. I pushed 300 W minimum for 4 hours. One time I pushed 330 W for 4 hours, which is a lifetime best, actually, 4-hour power. And to put that into perspective, in St. George this year I pushed 333 W and rode 2:01 for 90 k.
Bob: Right.
Lionel: So, that for 4 hours in practice and then ran a sub 1:20 half marathon off of it. Ten of those, in 15 weeks. By the time I got here... Well, this was actually my worst performance of the 15 [sic!] times, which is... I mean, makes logical sense why that would be. But, I mean, that's not how you should go about it.
Bob: No. And then this last year.
Lionel: Last year I was completely in fear of what I did the year previous...
Bob: *chuckles*
Lionel: ...so I took the complete opposite approach.
