Hier mal ein unkonventioneller Standpunkt zu Gottesurteilen im Mittelalter: Die haben besser funktioniert als man vermuten sollte, weil sie die Unschuldigen dazu brachten, sich dem Urteil Gottes auszuliefern und die Schuldigen dazu, sich vorab schuldig zu bekennen.
