IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
Due to the recent flooding of the Mosel river, the Maritime Authority of Luxembourg (Service de la Navigation) today has officially declared the river unfit for swimming as the strong currents may jeapordise the safety of athletes at the IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg-Région Moselle 2016. We as IRONMAN fully support this decision – your safety is of paramount importance!
The IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg- Région Moselle will now follow the format of a DUATHLON.
Athletes will start the race at 10:00am on the Esplanade where you will complete a 5km run loop on the official run course through the City of Remich. You will then enter transition and continue with the 90.1km bike course and 21.1km run course as usual.
Please ensure that you attend the mandatory race briefing on Friday in the event tent at the Expo (please see time table down below). Final details and instructions will be provided during race briefing.
Please remember to bring another pair of running shoes with you – this also applies to relay teams.
Race Briefing:
• 2:00pm – English language
• 3:00pm - German language
• 4:00pm - French language
