INSANE. what happened was a media entourage leading the group that missed the section turned left instead of right. it was ridiculously windy out at that part and somewhat hard to see as the sand was blowing across the roads like you would see in a blizzard. there was no ill intent on the guys who did miss that section. I have friends that were affected by this decision and challenge tried to do what was fair so to speak for everyone. most handled it with extreme class and professionalism. the group could have been dq'd and were told that. it was just a bizarre circumstance. I'm sure someone will give the full scope of what happened after the race and who said what but I won't be that person. It is unfortunate that it happened and ALL of the guys said this.
