Das is echt krank...:

Jeff Jonas (USA) and Luis Alvarez Gonzalez from Mexiko are on a mission today. The have finished almost all of the IRONMAN races worldwide - except two: the inaugural IRONMAN Mallorca today and the inaugural IRONMAN Chattanooga which is tomorrow! The plan is to do both - and we are absolutely convinced: Jeff and Luis will do so! They plan to jump on a private jet right after the race to head to the U.S. to be in Chattanooga, Tennessee, just in time. So, watch out for Jeff (bib #2588) and Luis (bib #2589)! This is what Jeff told us before today's event:

"I looked at the IRONMAN race web site at least three times pondering the Mallorca and Chattanooga dates -- each time realizing "yep, impossible." Then one day I pondered what time would one have to finish Mallorca and how fast could I get to the airport and what flights could be possible. Sure enough ... no way on Earth to get from point A to B using the airlines. Then I wondered if I took a helicopter form the Mallorca race finish straight to Madrid or Barcelona ... would it be possible then? Nope. Then new crazy idea: Was it even possible on a private jet to fly from Mallorca to Chattanooga? I asked Sally, my personal assistant to look into it -- unlikely for sure -- but just in case. Then about a day later she replies "Yep. Possible!" I could not believe my eyes. Unbelievable! Anything is possible it seems!"

Vermutlich träumt Messick davon, nur noch solche Menschen am Start zu haben, da ist das Thema "Geld" dann erledigt. Und ich kann langsam nachvollziehen, wie das hohe Durchschnittseinkommen in der Befragung letztes Jahr zustande kam...
