Ironman Florida: According to Ironman communications director Colby Gorniewicz “an invite went out to the professionals that were scheduled to race Ironman California yesterday but won’t be opened up further than that.”

"The Ironman Florida event will offer $50,000 for the women’s race – the race in Sacramento was supposed to offer a $50,000 prize purse as well.

In terms of other options for pros to attend this season, the Ironman African Championship in South Africa will offer a $100,000 prize purse – it’s scheduled for Nov. 21.
