Hello friends. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. From what I read above, people are curious about Ironman's ambitions coming to the Middle East, specifically my country Bahrain. Being the President of Bahrain Triathlon Association, I'm in no position to allow anybody to monopolize the triathlon event market in my country. So I had to approve Ironman and give them the date of choice. I would have advised to choose another date had Challenge approached us officially to request that same date or any weekend close to it. Till this date, I don't have anything official from Challenge requesting a specific date. I know Challenge would want to do their race in our season, and the season runs from November till March, so plenty of weekends to choose from, and we will be of full support to them.
Since we have approved Ironman in addition to Challenge, we have to be fair and support both races in the best capabilities as we can. We will promote the events locally, we provide traffic approvals and logistical assistance, and we will attend them both as well. That said, we will support both equally, so from our perspective they won't be any different in quality from each other, however, we won't prevent Challenge or Ironman to bring in their private support to their events.
