Hallo!
Hier im Forum gibt es doch bestimmt mehrere Starter für Wales 20 bzw. jetzt 21?

Ich hätte mich mal gerne mit euch ausgetauscht hinsichtlich der Vorgehensweise von Ironman. Ich hatte mich für 2020 gemeldet, aber Corona....
Die Rennabsage kam letztes Jahr am 09.06.2020.
Ich habe mir lange darüber Gedanken gemacht, wie ich mit der Umlegung auf 2021 umgehen werde.
Am 16.07.20 habe ich IM geschrieben, dass ich am 2021 Termin keinen garantierten Urlaub meines Arbeitgeber genehmigt bekomme und daher lieber absagen würde.

Die Antwort:

All registered athletes of the 2020 IRONMAN Wales will have their race registration automatically moved to the 2021 race date.

If you are unable to attend on September 12th, 2021 please note the normal transfer and withdrawal policy is in place until 23rd July.

Ich hatte also die Möglichkeit 25% zurückerstattet zu bekommen, gegen Gebühr umzumelden oder die 2021 Pille zu schlucken...

Dann spielte ich mit dem Gedanken(trotz 261€ Ummeldegeühr!!) auf Thun 2021 umzumelden. Das ist für mich das näheste Rennen, was zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht ausverkauft war.

hanks for getting in touch. you are only eligible to transfer to events in 2020, and yes our normal process requires you to pay the transfer fee and the difference in entry fees. You were only eligible for a 25% refund at this point, we have passed the deadline for 50%.

As you may be aware the deadline for this was the 23rd July, as you emailed in before this we are willing to make an exception here if you fill in the online form ASAP, please let us know you have done this so we can inform the withdrawal team.

Ich beobachte jetzt schon länger die Reisebestimmungen nach UK. Derzeit ist es nichtmal als Geimpfter möglich sich keiner 10 Tage Isolation zu entziehen. Hinzu kommen rund 200€ für Selbsttest an Tag 2 und 8. Unter diesen Bedingungen möchte ich nicht einreisen und daher auch nichts buchen. Ich habe Ironman auf die LAge hingewiesen.... Das ist denen aber gänzlich egal....

Unfortunately, as your original entry was in 2020, the original transfer, deferral, and withdrawal policy will only be in effect until the original 2020 date of 23rd July. If your place is deferred to 2021, due to the rescheduling of IRONMAN Wales, the policy does not also reschedule, and you will therefore not be able to transfer to another 2021 race or claim a partial refund. The policy remains with the original 2020 date.


At this time, the Event is still scheduled to occur, and we are working diligently with respective health and governmental authorities in our event communities on an event-by-event basis. Therefore unfortunately, we are not processing deferrals.  We actively continue to monitor the effects of the Global Pandemic so please check back with us 60 days prior to the event date for further updates on deferral policies related to your event.
