Im 2007 Athlete Information Guide stand noch:
"12) Each athlete must be individually responsible for repair and maintenance of their own bike. Assistance by anyone, including other athletes, other than IRONMAN bike technical support officials will be grounds for disqualification. Each cyclist should be prepared to handle any possible mechanical malfunction. Technical support DOES NOT include the normal changing of flat tires."

In der 2008er Version ist das auf den 1. Satz zusammengeschrumpft:
"12) Each athlete must be individually responsible for repair and maintenance of their own bike."

Nix mehr von Disqualifikation etc.
