Hier das offizielle Statement von Michi Raelert:

"Now, 3 days are gone since I have received the official statement of the Jury after Challenge Dubai. I want to be honest: I’m still very frustrated about the decision. I admit, I am not Albert Einstein or Stephen Hawking, but I have an idea what is wrong and what is right, especially when it comes to my sport triathlon.
There is already so much written about what happened in Dubai and how it happened - so I just wanna talk about this official statement. Just to mention: I have contacted the Jury as well to point out my point of view.
First of all: Event director Ahmed Al Haj and his team did a great job! They put an awesome event together in one of the nicest places you can be! The weather conditions were really tough. Due to that fact the signals on the race course, especially on the bike, were blown off the track. This was nobody’s fault and nobody’s responsibility. And I know and experienced it personally: Ahmed and his team tried to do their very very best.
It is the official statement of the Jury and the comment on the race results what makes me still asking why. It says: "It is unanimous consensus that the contested group was mislead and thereby unintentionally cut the course by 2.5 k.....Therefor it is decided that as there was no intentional failure of the athletes involved,...."
It was said in the hearing that we, Terenzo Bozzone, Andy Potts, Manuel Küng and myself, didn't do anything wrong. If we had done something wrong we would take full responsibility for that. So for me it is kind of clear, there should be not a sanction – because we were told we did not do anything wrong. But in the end we still got penalized for something we don't know for what. Yes, practically we cut the course, got an advantage and yes, we got lead onto the wrong course by an official race marshal motorbike. We were followed by one or two other official race marshal motorbikes and a hell of media bikes. So, at one point we left the course and for that reason there is no option: If we did something wrong - DQ! A disqualification is the only reasonable decision straight forward if we did something wrong and I would truly accept that and take full responsibility.
We got to know the result of Jury’s decision at the awards ceremony after the race and in a written form two days later. I still see myself in second place at the Challenge Dubai after being told that we did not do anything wrong. And if not: I have to get disqualified. I think: The race was great, but rules should not be changed.

Interessant seine Ansicht: Wenn man sagen würde, er hätte was falsch gemacht, würde er eine DQ respektieren. Weil man aber sagt, er hätte keinen Fehler gemacht, verstünde er die Penalty nicht.

Obwohl ich zwar im Englischen lediglich lese, dass kein BEWUSSTER Fehler gemacht wurde, finde ich es gut, dass auch die Profis sagen, es gäbe nur eine richtige Lösung: DQ!
