Via @therealstriker_ :"I see I am taking some heat on SoMe about my celebration at Ironman Austria. I want to tell you my take on the situation.
When life happens you have periods where the stars align and also periods of struggle. My life have had both, but the last 4 years more the latter. Both my career as an athlete and personal life has been hit by a couple of kicks to the chest. Trusting the process can be difficult from time to time when the results doesn't show up but in times of struggle you have to trust in yourself and the process even more. That is what my coach is trying to teach me.
Last sunday, the race in Klagenfurt became more than just a race for me. When I was running down the streets people were screaming and cheering from km zero to the end - through heat, rain and thunder. I saw people from the pewag team all over the runcourse who spend their lifes helping me and making my dream come true. Suddenly I realized for real that this was not just for me anymore but for the whole team. I saw the reaction in their faces and what it also meant to them that I was about to win.
When I reached the finishline I got flashbacks to all of the stuff and the whole process I've been through to be there in exactly that moment. I was so proud to wear the green and white suit, proud to get through the race, proud to get through the challenges life have been giving me and proud to win. For me that's what Ironman is all about
: overcomming all obstacles in front of you. Then I let go and showed the world how I felt. It meant the world to me and suddenly all of the hard work payed off.
I believe that we as human beings should be allowed to celebrate our own and other people's succeses. Enjoying great moments in life. We should all be proud of who we are and show it to the world. I assure you that your succes feels even greater if you allow yourself to let go and celebrate. When is the last time you celebrated your own or other people's successes?
I hope to see a lot of people celebrate on the finishline and in life in general! KEEP CALM STRIKE HARD!"
.
Congrats again for your win at #imaustria @therealstriker_ !
