WTC Announces New Canadian Ironman

The prestigious Ironman global series will now include a new, choice destination: Ironman Mont-Tremblant. It was in the presence of the minister in charge of governmental Administration, the president of the Treasure Council and the minister in charge of the Laurentians region, Ms. Michelle Courchesne, and of the mayor of Mont-Tremblant, Mr. Pierre Pilon, that this important announcement was made this morning. The course, which consists of 3.86 km of swimming, 180.2 km of cycling and 42.2 km of running, will take place on August 19, 2012. Minister Michelle Courchesne will share the honorary presidency of the 2012 edition of Ironman Mont-Tremblant with Quebec triathlete, Pierre Lavoie, founder of the Pierre Lavoie Challenge.

Die Bilder auf der Startseite und die gegend bei Google Maps sehen super aus. Und zum Glück ein Ironman in der Natur (Mont-Tremblant NP).

Aber warum ist der auch im August wohl eine oder zwei Wochen vor Penticton.

Das ist nen Knaller. Haben die Kanadier Jahre drauf gewartet eine Alternative zu Penticton zu bekommen.Wunderschöne Gegend,klasse Termin.

penticton war jahre der einzigste ironman in nordamerika.....außer hawaii natürlich

Mont Tremblant ist superschön, da könnte man ja glatt überlegen... War im Januar erst in der Gegend und würde gerne mal im Sommer dorthin...

Würd sagen, das dürfte ein Knaller werden. Höhenmeter insgesamt auf dem Rad wär mal interessant, wieviel hat Penticton eigentlich?

Irgendwann komm ich auch noch mal nach Kanada (Finisher 1993...:Lachen2: )
