Ergebnisse aus Devonport

Laut Tri-mag.de war sein Ziel "seine größten Konkurrenten um die letzten beiden australischen Olympia-Tickets zu distanzieren: Courtney Atkinson und Brendan Sexton."

Nun ja: Sexton gewinnt, Atkinson Platz 5, Macca auf 14 mit 4+ Minuten Rückstand. Wie sagt man so schön, it's hard to teach old dogs new tricks.

... und so wie es jetzt nachdem Cairns zum Ironman wurde ausschaut, will der Macca wohl doch wieder nach Kona. Wahrscheinlich hat er erkannt, das Olympia nicht so funktionieren wird und der Kampf um die Krone in Kona ihm doch ein wenig besser liegt:

im KPR hat er aber (z.Zt.) nur 500 Punkte..da kommt er mit "Challenge" nicht weit!

Aber ehemalige Sieger haben doch 5 Jahre lang die Möglichkeit auf Hawaii zu starten, solange sie im laufenden Quali-Jahr einen IM finishen. Die KPR-Punkte sind dann ja unbedeutend.

Ironman Cairns is cool. I signed to race three years here and am looking forward to it. What it does do is validate my Kona spot for the year and give me options. I am happy about it. We have not looked past June right now, but to qualify for Kona so early gives me that option if I wish to take it. If Lance qualifies in France in July, this could get interesting and motivating. My season plan will be something I discuss with my team and my family. We do know one thing, when I return to Ironman, it will be where we left. We wouldn’t want it any other way!
